Fallen Paper Art Original

Fallen is a forest-themed memento mori artwork, inspired by the beauty of the passed butterflies found while hiking in the mountains of Tennessee one summer. Even in death, these insects are so lovely, and their bodies, like the fallen leaves, will go on to nourish even more life in the woods.

Made entirely by hand of mulberry and recycled cotton paper, painted with gouache and watercolor, and inked with India ink. Framed in a solid cherry wood shadowbox frame with a warm grey varnish, and shatterproof, UV-blocking, glare-reduction Optium acrylic glazing.
