Direwolf and Dogwood Paper Art Original
A celebration of southeastern flora and fauna of the past and present, the Beastie and Bone Spring 2026 collection features lush botanicals, imposing fossils, and shining beetles with special details like shimmering gold and reddish hues in a nod to the ancient and rusting southeastern soil.
A play upon the expected relationships between the megafauna direwolf Aenocyon dirus and the modern gray wolf (and canids in general) that lives throughout the United States today, Direwolf and Dogwood features the skull of a direwolf entwined with a dogwood branch - a species of tree that actually existed both in the Late Pleistocene heyday of the direwolf, and today in the lush American Southeast.
Made entirely by hand out of assorted artist’s papers, gouache, watercolor, and ink.
Framed in a 12” x 16” shadowbox frame with archival materials and shatterproof acrylic glazing.
